Story/Description of Squirrel's Eye

I had a little time off of work so I was spending part of the days feeding the squirrels at the University of California Berkeley campus.  The squirrels were quite used to human contact and would come right up to me to get their treats.  They would even climb on my shoulders if I placed a peanut there.  I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take some photographs of these squirrels close up.  I used my telephoto /macro lens to snap this shot.  I had the lens about an inch away from its eye.  It didn't seem to mind (I had just given it a peanut to occupy it) until after I snapped the shutter.  The sound of the camera made it panic and it scurried to about a yard away and finished its lunch.
