Story/Description of Surreal Reality
This has to be one of my all time favorite photographs. It was taken of of highway 1 outside a town called Jenner California where the Russian river meets the Pacific Ocean. What you are looking at is the salt water of the Russian River (green) and the fresh water of the Pacific Ocean (blue) taken from a cliff above. The breakers from the ocean are crossing the sand bank and spilling over into the river. Without really knowing it becomes hard to tell what it is. Often people thing the ocean is the sky, the sand bank are the mountains and the river is the ocean. This gives the photograph a sort of surreal look.
