This is one of my earliest photographs. I took it about the time I was just getting interested in photographs as a hobby/art form. I just had a regular range finder camera (you know the kind you take snap shots with). I was in Santa Cruz where I stopped to see the Monarch butterflies in hibernation. On the way back I saw this gate covered with ivy so I captured it on film. I was quite please with the results. I'm sure it was photographic adventures like that that steered me in the direction of taking my first photography course.
